It felt like ice had replaced her blood the moment she stepped foot into Morgan’s office, but the man often had that effect on people and she was used to it by now. She stood quiet and still behind her brother and Shawn as both gave their reports. Personally she had nothing to report but it was respectful to show up anyway and so she had. Her gaze traveled along the bookshelves that lined either side of Trayton’s office. The room was filled with books on completely random subjects ranging from the thickest books on Theory and Law to obscure tomes on Vampire lore. Many were not in English and a few of the more unique volumes were actually hand written. Adrienne felt his eyes on her and snapped her gaze back only to be met by his coal dark eyes and she knew she’d been caught letting her mind wander. She dropped her chin but kept her eyes on his and was unsure whether she should be relieved or fearful when the corners of his mouth turned up. Morgan nodded to Shawn and Echo and dismissed them as Echo laid a paper file as well as a disk on his desk. Adrienne stepped aside and let Shawn precede her, rank dictating that she fall in beside her brother. Her heart nearly stalled when Morgan spoke her name and though he made no outward appearance of it, Echo tensed almost immediately.

“If you have a moment, Siren, I need to speak with you.”

His wording gave an illusion of choice where she knew there was none so she nodded, both to Morgan and to her brother’s unspoken warning of caution. Morgan motioned her closer as the door shut behind his subordinates and she noticed that his previous smile was back. As she moved closer to his desk he stood, running his hands over the spines of the books that lined the walls as he moved past them but never took his eyes from her. Adrienne was intensely reminded of Ravage on the hunt and discovered the comparison to be quite adequate as she found herself gazing up into those dark eyes yet again. She had never been on the tall side, reaching just above her brother’s shoulder, Morgan however had quite a bit of height even on Echo; he veritably towered over the smaller girl. Her whole body tensed when he ran his fingers over the back of one of her hands, his intense cold seeping into her skin even through her thick gloves.

“How hard that must be for you… unable to touch, to feel with your own hands without dire consequence.”

He lifted her hand and kissed the back of it gently while keeping his eyes focused on hers. With a smirk he began rolling the edge of her glove down just enough to make her tremble, his fingers barely ghosting the rarely exposed skin. It was enough for her to taste his desire, enough to make her gasp aloud. Morgan’s smirk turned feral as electric blue eyes widened in shock and realization and he tugged her closer, sliding his other arm around her waist. It was easy to trap her between his body and the desk.  The feel of the solid wood pressing into her back sent a shock of fear through her and set her heart racing. He lifted a hand to her face, running his fingers gently down her cheek and along her jaw before sliding them into her hair at the base of her neck. She shivered as he leant forward, his baritone voice a soft purr in her ear.

“I’ve had my eye on you for some time now. Most think me an impatient man, but when I know the prize is worth the wait my patience can be limitless.”

Pulling away just enough to look her in the eye, he used the arm wrapped around her waist to lift her so that she sat on his desk. She grabbed a hold of him at the sudden movement, her eyes going wide. He merely chuckled at her reaction, maneuvering himself between her legs and pressing their bodies together. Her head was down now, her bottom lip caught between her teeth as she stole glances at him from under her lashes and he wondered if she were being coy or if her actions were natural. Placing two fingers under her chin he tipped her head up, forcing her to look at him. He let his thumb slide over her lips, the corner of his mouth curling when the action pulled a soft gasp from her. A moment later he pressed his mouth to hers, the move was quick but the kiss was surprisingly gentle.

When he broke from her she leaned away as much as she dared and tried desperately to mute her emotions and keep her face blank. There was a familiar glint in his eyes, something feral that gave her the impression that she was being toyed with; hunted.

“M…Megatron… “

A suitably predatory smile spread across his face, he was enjoying her fear far too much.

They’re at it again Ech…

Echo sighed when his sister’s thoughts invaded his own. Adrienne was keeping an eye on the twins while they were sick, both were supposed to be restricted to bed rest but with a set like Ricky and Fraye one could never take too many precautions. Echo felt a twinge of guilt at having subjected his little sister to the set of sick and unruly twins but he had work that needed attending to; work that she could not be aware of, let alone take care of for him.

I will see to them as soon as I am able, until then strap them down if you have to.

Addy’s amusement at her brother’s suggestion made him smile under his mask but the expression was gone as soon as it appeared. His sister’s happiness made his guilt rise up again. He was lying to her, occasionally using her as well. He sincerely regretted being unable to tell her of his allegiance but it was a necessary secret. The decision was made without any hesitation on his part and he often wondered why it had taken him so long to defect in the first place. His former leader’s and allies’ slowly dwindling sanity had been his breaking point. The cause had become a twisted and ugly perversion of what it had originally been and Echo, finding himself disgusted and disturbed by his leader’s ideals, had gone straight to Ville with the offer of spying for him. Needless to say he’d been suspicious at first but after hearing Echo’s explanation and going over the information he’d provided, Ville had readily accepted his offer with the only condition being that he continued to spy in secret. Only a select few Dynasty members knew of his involvement and not even his own family was aware, a sore point in his mind.

Echo shook his head to clear his mind and whistled, holding his arm out for the golden condor circling above to land. Laserbeak heeded his call and landed gently and gracefully upon his outstretched arm, taking special care not to harm her caretaker. Echo smiled at her gently and petted her golden head.

Are you ready for a long flight Laserbeak?

She turned her head into his hand slightly, growling softly in approval. Even though she might not have been able to see him smile at her, but she could tell he was pleased with her and that was enough for the condor. She sat perfectly still while he tied her current message around her leg, making sure that it was safe and secure. He petted her fondly one last time before setting her off on her journey, watching until she was out of sight before turning back.
